United Church of Solomon Islands

The United Church of Solomon Islands has hailed the transition of the Pacific Theological College (PTC) to the Pasifika Communities University (PCU). It’s Reverend Bishop of the Eastern Islands Region Phillip Bryan says UCSI is fully committed to PTC’s vision and direction, in particular the new learning offerings and the vision behind PCU.
“We want a University that embraces, articulates and enhances the philosophies, values and traditions of Pasifika through theological education,” said Bishop Bryan.
Bishop Bryan also hailed as strong and outstanding the leadership of PTC Principal in forging new pathways for the College to new horizons.
“This is a huge achievement for PTC and its member churches. You have done well despite the challenges, keep up the good work,” he added.
Bishop Bryan made the comments while welcoming the Principal at Wesley Church in the capital city, Honiara.
He also emphasized UCSI’s continued commitment in supporting and sending students to PTC.
“PTC has produced leaders of the church over the years and continues to impact and shape the leadership of UCSI and we thank you for that!”
He announced that the church will for the first time this year include as part of its UCSI Assembly office budget its member contributions to both PTC and the Pacific Conference of Churches. This will ensure more regular payments.
