A Welcome Message from the Principal

Bula Vinaka! Talofa Lava! Upolu Vaai

Greetings to you all in the name of the Triune God! It is a delight as Principal to welcome you all to the Pacific Theological College (PTC), the regional ecumenical college of the Pacific churches.

If you are new to the college, welcome! We have been anticipating your arrival with excitement. We welcome you to join us paddle the PTC vaka as we journey together as an ecumenical family towards the realization of God’s Kingdom in Oceania. If you are a returning member, welcome again! We look forward to more exciting fellowship in the hope to strengthen the gift of ecumenism.

With a diverse ecumenical body that includes those from the Congregational, Methodist, Wesleyan, Presbyterian, Anglican, Protestants, Uniting, and Lutheran traditions, we pledge to give you a robust and innovative learning and living environment. PTC is also open to candidates not only from outside of these Christian traditions, but also from outside of the Pacific region. With an internationally recognized faculty and well equipped administration staff, PTC is able to deliver the much needed theological education complemented by one of the finest libraries in the region. PTC has also been the hub for renowned visiting international scholars, church and government leaders, as well as ordinary people who visit daily.

As a multi-cultural, multi-denominational, multi-ethnic, and recently a multi-faith institution in terms of its personnel, PTC is ecumenically structured and organized, offering deep, innovative, and transformative theological education to equip future leaders in their teaching and social justice ministries.

I pray that the PTC’s academic and spiritual atmosphere and its strategic geographical location in Suva, Fiji, as the hub of the Pacific, will add joy and fulfilment to your studies and stay. The college is looking forward to a fruitful journey with you this year as we enrich our faith and one another through learning, worshiping, working, feasting, and struggling together as a family of God.

God bless!

Rev. Dr. Upolu Luma Vaai
