Today, PTC farewelled Dr Gladson Jathanna and his wife, Shirley. Dr Jathanna joined PTC in 2019 as the Senior Lecturer of Church History. He later became the Head of the Department for Church History. He leaves PTC to join Drew University in the United States. In bidding PTC farewell at an event this morning, Dr Gladson said he had learned much from the ecumenical diversity of the PTC community. Dr Gladson said his family found a home at PTC. The College also farewelled the Director of the Pacific Theological College Extension Education (PTCEE), Sailosi Batiratu, and his family. Mr Batiratu joined PTC in 2018. Principal PTC Rev. Professor Upolu Vaai acknowledged the significant contributions of both families given to PTC. He said in Dr Gladson, he found an international expatriate fully immersed in the Pasifikaness of life – a person who is honest and invested in the pursuit of justice, especially from the perspective of people on the margins of life. The departing families were gifted various gifts from ethnic groups here at PTC.
