KOICA Volunteers

Languge bridges and connects cultures. For the four KOICA volunteers that have been learning English through the Personnel Exchange Programme coordinated by the Institute for Mission and Research of PTC, learning English also enabled them to discover more about Fiji. It’s places, peoples, politics, arts, talents, fauna, flora, media, and rich cultures. Twenty eight year old Jiyoung Yang said learning English will help her in assisting young mothers at Fiji largest hospital the Colonial War Memorial Hospital with their dietary plans. Soul Kim is a physiotherapist and she will be stationed at Sigatoka Hospital. Teail Kim is a sixty-two year old agricultural researcher who will be working with youths at the Nasau Youth Training Centre where he will assist in training young people with animal husbandry and other agricultural skills. Kyeong Soo Yoon is with the Rural and Maritime Department. The English learning training was facilitated by Asela Tuisawau the English and Academic Skills Lecturer at PTC with Ms. Lavenia Drodrolagi.
