Vacancy – Human Resources Administrative Officer

The Pacific Theological College (PTC) located in Nasese, Suva, is a regional ecumenical tertiary institution that served the region through the churches of the Pacific for over 50 years. We invite applications for the position of Human Resources Administrative Officer, to be part of a vibrant and dedicated regional team.


Terms of Reference:

The staff shall uphold the Constitution of the College and shall faithfully and diligently perform the duties as Human Resources Administrative Officer, outlined in these terms of reference. The staff shall work closely with the Principal and Vice Principal to plan, coordinate and implement the human resources work of the College to serve the mission needs of the Pacific Churches and to further the College’s vision and mission objectives.

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies).
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, etc.).
  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys, etc.) and take minutes.
  • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc.).
  • Communicate with public services when necessary.
  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures.
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews.
  • Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant, or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Computer skills.
  • Familiarity with databases.
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws in Fiji.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Preferably a degree in Human Resources or related field.
