The Department of History is one of the oldest departments in the College. From the time of its inception it has strived to cater to the needs of the young Pacific church historians. Apart from the regular BD course, we offer advanced level studies in the History of Christianity in the Pacific as a part of the development of the entire Christian Church throughout the ages.
The Department has vibrant graduates from different cultural contexts fostering advanced expertise in the History of Christianity from the early church to the contemporary. We offer a PhD program, which provides the opportunity for the candidate to pursue independent research in a specialized topic that reflects scholarly, Pacific and ecumenical interests.
The Department has a remarkable history with efficient and eminent faculty members, including the current principal.
